A hallmark of authentic service is caring for the physical needs of people. From the earliest days of MercyWorks, service to the poor has included a medical component. From something as simple as giving people prescription eyeglasses so they can see, prescription medicine for various ailments, or removing abscessed teeth, to things as complex as arranging life-saving operations and treatment, MercyWorks has always welcomed medical professionals who desire use their skills in serving those with little or no access to basic health care. Volunteers can serve for time periods ranging from one week to a lifetime.
