MercyWorks is Going to Oklahoma!

Last fall, MercyWorks delivered world beds to be used among the Syrian refugees living on the Jordan/Syria border. We now are able to help people in our own back yard, in neighboring Oklahoma, who have become homeless. MercyWorks is sending a load of world beds in response to yesterday’s killer tornadoes. For just $20, you can help send a world bed to someone who needs it. Hundreds of people are sleeping on the floors of churches, in friends homes, etc. in the town of Moore as well as some surrounding smaller towns. We will most likely be sending other...

Jordanian Believers Helping Refugees

(Peace be upon you!)  I recently returned from an eye-opening trip to the Jordan/Syria border.  It was great to return in the spring of 2013 after my initial visit in the fall of 2012 and to see how the work among the Syrian refugees is going full speed ahead. The first refugee family I visited on this trip was a family I had spent time with during my previous trip to al Malfraq.  The mother had lost her husband in April 2012 when a Syrian soldier cut off his head and stuck it in a toilet while she and...

Syrian Refugee Crisis Update

The crisis in Syria worsens by the day.  You may have heard that some 30,000 Syrians have been killed by President al-Assad in the past year.  I recently returned from northern Jordan where 200,000 Syrian refugees are currently living.  The stories I heard from those who escaped were both horrifying and heartbreaking.  If ever there was a time for the church to reach out in the name and love of Jesus to these refugee families, it is NOW. 32,000 of the refugees are located in the Za’atri Refugee Camp, while others live in goat barns, abandoned houses or low...
