Refugees

Since the Syrian war broke out in 2011, hundreds of thousands have been killed and millions have been displaced – either within Syria or in nearby nations.  Many have risked their lives traveling the refugee highway trying to obtain a better life for their families.  MercyWorks has come alongside refugees in the Middles East as well as various places in Europe to help in practical ways and to share the love of God with them. Poverty Alleviation

MercyWorks has several initiatives to help alleviate poverty.  In recent years, helping people break the chains of poverty has been very successful in Nepal and the Philippines. Women especially are vulnerable to human trafficking, slavery, prostitution, or begging as a result of extreme poverty.  This is sometimes even true of married women if the couple is desperate.
